The evolution in business travel will focus on results

It’s true that the work culture has been changed in the last 12 months. There is satisfaction in knowing that we can adapt and innovate our way out of this profoundly different world and come away better than before. Businesses have successfully embraced technology and now communicate primarily by email and meet virtually online, but there will be business travel in the future.

It’s too soon to call it hindsight but essential travel did continue. Recently, experts came together for the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) “Ready. Safe. Travel Summit” and confirmed that during this pandemic, some industries needed to meet face-to-face, especially in manufacturing, logistics, mining and construction. They have kept business negotiations going, the ideas moving forward and deals getting done in the privacy of a chartered private jet.

As businesses begin to evolve, there will be more focus on results. Potentially fewer, more critical trips will be held to a higher standard. The goal will be to make each business trip count. As reported by Business Travel News, measuring traveler health, safety and maintaining productivity will be mandatory. Is it more efficient to send four people one time and have all the discussions once, or send them one at a time over a few days? The post-analysis of what these business trips achieve and how the travelers are affected will be key to the return of business travel.

Arranging private jet travel is easy when you call an expert like Chapman Freeborn to handle everything. Helen Hollis, VP, Passenger Charters – Americas, explains, “Requests go directly to an expert broker, not a call center. The broker will confirm your requirements and prepare a proposal right away.” Business travelers appreciate setting their own schedules and that changes can be made if needed. It’s the ability to adapt quickly and the inherent attention to health and safety make it a solid business decision.

Those in the executive suite value staying productive while they travel safely on private jets. According to revenue-hub.com, winning new business and managing existing relationships are two of the main reasons motivating companies to arrange private travel. Many of these business development executives are expected to travel together and choose private jets for cost efficiency, schedule flexibility and health/safety.

So what does the future business traveler look like? Considering the changing work -culture, the number of people likely to be hired on a ‘remote’ basis going forward, it’s the business traveler mix that will most likely change. There may be fewer high frequency travelers, but there will be more regular business travelers and key executives traveling together. Meeting in person is powerful. There is still nothing that can take its place.
